Not every one's hair is the same nor does certain products or routines work for everyone. Hair is like an experiment, you have to figure out what works best for you and try new things. As for me, I have tried so many hair products from Carols daughter to Cantu and many more.
As of now, I know what works for me, how I like my hair to look and feel, so I stick to what I know.
I use Shea moisture products and I love the results…

Other Products I use:
Why it works for me: So my hair is very funny acting, to get my curls a certain way that I want them, I always have a set way that I do my hair. I find that these products keep my hair and curls locked in all day!
My steps:
- Wash / Condition
- Brush in shower
- Rinse
- Towel Dry / Leave hair damped
- Add my curl smoothie or moisturizer (I don’t brush again after shower)
- Scrunch up my hair with hands or diffuser
What my hair type is: 3A / 3B
How my hair feels/looks: So my hair often looks very dry and frizzy because I lack moisture. Not only do I lack moisture but I also damaged my hair terribly by adding heat to it almost every week.
MY MISTAKE:
The photos above are clear examples of how much I use to straighten and dye my hair. Doing so, really damaged my curls.
I'm learning a lot with my hair and how to take care of it now. If it's one thing I've learned during my journey is to take care of your hair, your hair will take care of you. We may think we know our hair because we deal with it on a daily but no, there's a lot we lack within our routines and moisture is very important.
TIPS:
- Eliminate heat
- Eliminate dyeing your hair
- Watch youtube videos to learn other hair types and find someone with a similar hair type as yours
(Keep in mind, what works for them may not work for you but trying won't hurt)
- Don't wash your hair every day
- Deep condition once or twice a week
- Keep up and clip those ends!
- Brush your hair regularly
