What is healing?
Healing is embracing all the traumatic and emotional events you’ve experienced. It is restoring and nurturing yourself whole again. - Kareise
Healing is figuring out who you are.
Healing is having a clear vision of what’s going on around you.
Healing is cleaning out your closet, deleting songs from your music library, and changing the music you listen to.
Healing is discarding items, deleting social media apps, and pulling the plug on old ways you no longer serve.
I’ve learned that healing takes true consistency and dedication. I believe the key to healing is being real with yourself and being uncomfortable with your truths.
Why do people need to heal? - Past traumas
What is trauma? - Trauma is a series of stressful events that are overwhelming and disturbing to one, causing effects on one's mental, social, and physical well-being. Symptoms of trauma can include anxiety, flashbacks, PTSD, and sleep disruption.
Common symptoms of trauma include:
Insomnia
Emotional outbursts
Headaches and nausea
Avoiding places or things that remind you of what happened
Consistently drinking or using drugs to numb your feelings
Feelings of sadness and anger
Difficulty in relationships
As a delicate person, I am sensitive to certain situations, when I go through a traumatic event, it affects me deeply and I feel everything.
I decided to start a real healing journey in January. After a few sessions, my therapist educated me on the differences between both anxiety and panic attacks. (Panic attacks are more severe).
* Unfortunately, the overuse of the word “anxiety” seems to be an overkill with little to no knowledge of the condition. Anxiety is real and some people suffer from it.*

To simplify it,
trauma = anxiety
anxiety stems from > trauma
You can’t have one without the other. They go hand in hand.
Since I’ve started my healing journey, a lot has tremendously improved and I am proud of my growth. There will always be room for improvement as we sharpen ourselves, but the more I continue to work on myself, the easier it becomes to read and identify when I am encountering a healed or unhealed person.
I say all this to say, don’t disregard what it is you’re feeling and take your health seriously. What you think is minor, can later be major.
Take the time out to put yourself and your health first. Find a therapist that fits your needs and talk to a care navigator who will ask you questions to best match you with therapists that meet your needs.
