Places I've been & one thing I liked about each

There are 50 states and 193 countries, it’s quite amazing to know there’s so much world out there to see.

I still have yet to see what else awaits but below are a few places I have been and my highlights for each.

Urireo, Mexico

(Pictured on the right) Me and a few of my cousins maybe back in the year of 2008.

Urireo (Guanajuato) is where my mothers side of the family is from. I would always hear stories about how I was a baby out there but this was my first time going back as a kid at an age where I can store memories and remember.

One thing I liked about being there is it felt so free, it felt like everyone was happy in their own worlds and content with what they had, the style of the homes were also very unique.

I remember my great grandmas home having two different sides to her house, three levels and odd entryways throughout her home. It’s something to experience rather than explain coming from the U.S where homes are more traditional or cookie cutters.

I would love to go back especially now being in my late twenties, I think it’s important to know your culture and background.

Overall - 10/10.

Washington, DC

This trip was random, I was a senior in high school at the time when my best friend Kayla invited me to go up there with her and her college friend for the weekend.

I remember Washington being “city-like” with a chill atmosphere, shopping strips and their own little China town that is Asian-inspired. China towns buildings all have asian-like architecture touches.

(as seen in the photo taken by me)

We tried out a couple food spots that all had good food options, Washington is where I also tried Indian food for the first time.

Overall 7/10.

Las Vegas

Vegas was really fun, I had went for my best friend Kayla’s birthday back in 2017. From renting out ATV’s, zip lining above huge crowds, pool parties, fine dining and seeing Big Sean & Jhene Aiko… I would do it all over again!

Although we had some activities for us reserved already prior to getting there, most of the trip consisted of unplanned events that turned out fun. I can’t name one thing that went wrong on this trip, besides Kayla getting stuck during zip-lining and dangling maybe 50ft above hundreds of people (haha) or me leaving a pair of my favorite shoes behind.

Overall - 10/10.

Check out some activities to do:

- Las Vegas Zip Lining

- ATV Riding

Cancun, Mexico

And again, another trip with my bestie of 18+ years.

But I can’t list one thing I enjoyed most about this trip because truth be told, EVERYTHING was amazing!

The chaperons there were beyond welcoming from the time we stepped foot on our shuttle at the airport to the resort. Everyone was friendly the entire time we were there and we had so much fun!

Water activities, UTV’s, Paralleling, Zip lining, Boat rides with unlimited drinks, shopping strips, night clubs, malls etc.

We did it all.

Not to mention, the beach was so relaxing. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

Overall - 10/10.

Miami, Florida

I went here for my birthday in Feb of 2021 and if I’m being honest, it wasn’t the best trip I’ve been on. The weather was slightly cold ranging from high 50’s to low 60’s and everything I purchased for the trip was not suitable for a person like me who’s always cold.

This trip is an insider till this day because of the shenanigans that took place and how much of a joke it was.

It makes for a good laugh.

One thing I did enjoy was the night life and this amazing seafood place we tried.

I would go back to redo this trip but not in the month of February.

Overall- 5/10.

Santa Clarita, California

I visited in March of 2021.

I don’t have much to say about my visit here. Despite not being able to explore as much as I wanted to, what I enjoyed most about Santa Clara was the weather, mountain views and I love that they have a leisure app you can use to order a selection of stuff and have it delivered to you with a limit of ($50 minimum).

That’s truly top-tier if you ask me.

I’d love to go back to Cali to actually experience their main attractions like Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Chicago, IL.

I lived in Illinois for four years. Driving to the city was regular and at times a breath of fresh air.

Although Chicago is not my cup of tea, it is a beautiful place to visit in the summer time, walk along Lake Michigan, try out food places, museums, shop on Michigan Ave and more.

And in the winter, ice skating along Millennium Park is a gem (just be sure to bundle up).

My favorite things to do in the summer time is

1. Kayak - Rent one out and paddle along Lake Michigan (the waves can be heavy and fairly intimidating, especially when boats are passing by) but if you think your a pro, you’ll love it!

2. Shed Aquarium - Worth it! Great for both a date or family outing.

3. Navy Pier is always fun and enjoyable (lots to see and do all while keeping it chill)

4. Boat ride/tour - If you ever visit Chicago and it’s in the summer time, please if you will… BOOK a boat tour. You won’t regret it!

NEW YORRRK

I love everything about New York.

Being from Connecticut and at the time living only about an hour away, my friends and I would take trips up there regularly rather it was the train or driving.

After I moved, I never stopped visiting.

Not only is NY like my second home but it’ll always have a special place in my heart. The atmosphere and freedom is unmatched. The vibes are different. Some say dirty and smelly but I say beauty, culture and independence.

If you know, you know.

But for those that never been, there is way more to NY than Times Square. If you visit, try going a little outside and explore Manhattan, Uptown, and explore Brooklyn, visit museums, go to a comedy show and eat all you can, try lots of food places!

Do it all.

10/10 of course.

Other places I’ve been:

Boston, Denver, CO . Indiana, New Jersey, North Carolina, San Antonio.

Comment a place you’ve traveled & something you liked there.

Would you return again?
